William D. (Bill) Chandler received a B.S. in geology in 1979 from Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas. Bill has worked as a well site geologist with the following companies: Core Lab and American Quasar in Midland, Texas; Baker Hughes Intec in Venezuela; Occidental Petroleum, Devon Energy, Cimarex, and EOG in north and west Texas, and since 2009 has been a consultant with Strivers Consulting in Graham, Texas. Bill developed the Chandler Perforation Plot (CPP) in April 2011 and filed for a patent. That same year he founded Lateral Exploration Labs, LLC (LEL) where he is currently president.
A low-tech methodology using drill cuttings with robust results creates a reliable resistivity curve, and tracks density porosity while drilling. This high grades the decision to run a d.s.t. and overcomes false negatives - and false positives - in reservoir rocks. It also provides 20/20 vision in vertical and lateral well bores, and confirms or denies most zones of interest at near real time.
