October 2015 - Dale Short

The GCAGS in Houston last week was a great convention.  There were a lot of good talks, and the occasional blooper, but for the most part, it was a great opportunity to learn more about what was going on in the scientific aspect of our business.  The students from Stephen F. Austin University were well represented with 12 posters that were presented at the convention.  That was more than any other university (the next closest was University of Houston with 10 posters).  A big thanks to our Society for helping sponsor these students and professors who attended with them.

September 2015 - Dale Short

September is right around the corner and soon we can anticipate the first cool front and a relief from the summer heat. It will also be the start of our ETGS luncheons with the first one being held at The Cascades Country Club on September 16 at 11:30 AM. May 2015 - Dale Short

The 2014 – 2015 season of the East Texas Geological Society will be drawing to a close with our monthly luncheon at the Cascades Country Club on Wednesday, May 20th.  I’d like to thank all of those who have attended throughout my term as President and hope to see you again next year when I will serve another term, unless somebody would like to impeach, supersede, overthrow, or otherwise replace me.  It has been an honor to serve as President and a lot of fun too!
